A New Kind of Community Day for 2020 – September 19th, 2020
The 62nd Annual Stanford Community Day will be like no other. The chosen theme is perfect : “We’re All in This Together!”
The COVID-19 pandemic changed our world and our daily lives: all in the light of hoping to keep everyone safe from this new worldwide health crisis.
However, in the midst of this pandemic, people came together to help those in need: The Grange’s new Little Food Pantry which so many people have generously contributed to, the sewing of masks, the Town’s Community Hotline are just a few examples. People checked on family and neighbors, delivered food, and offered other assistance either personally or through an organization of their choice.
While Community Day this year looks very different from what we’re used to, we still wanted to plan something to celebrate our Town and bring us together safely as a community. A lot of heartfelt discussion went into the planning of this year’s Community Day for the last 4 months. With proper precautions, guidance and being “New York Smart”, we hope this year’s Community Day will be remembered in a positive way.
We will emerge from this pandemic stronger and more resilient. We will get through this together?
