A “call-back system” for Unemployment Insurance (UI) claims will be in place today. Anyone who has been instructed to call the DOL Telephone Claims Center to complete their application does not need to call. A representative from DOL will call the applicant back within 72 hours. Hopefully, this will lead to a more efficient and less frustrating experience for UI applicants. I’m sure we all appreciate the state for implementing this system. If anyone runs into any extraordinary issues, please let Supervisor Burton me know and I will do my best to assist you by working with Ron Hicks from Dutchess County.
Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro and Dr. Anil Vaidian, Commissioner of the Department of Behavioral & Community Health are advising face coverings should be worn by everyone outside of their homes to help protect against Coronavirus, including essential workers in the retail, service and other industries. This directive comes after the Center for Disease Control released official guidance recommending people wear cloth face coverings in settings in settings where ample social distancing may not be adequate to stop the spread of COVID-19. WEAR A MASK, STAY HOME, SHOP INFREQUENTLY AND PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING. We are distributing cloth masks outside of Town Hall in a plastic bin. Please take only what you need. We can flatten the curve.
